Do You Want to Be Thin? Bless a Thin Person
It is obvious in the society we live in that overweight people are often
stereotyped in an unpleasant light and some would say they are even discriminated against because of their weight. And while this type of judgment is wrong and often undeserved what interests me is the negative comments I hear directed toward thin people, often times coming from the same people that desperately want to be thin.
If you view a thin person with jealousy, resentment or anger, or an attitude that says, “He’s so lucky.” or “Who does she think she is.” Yet you would love to have a body like theirs then you are blocking your desire from ever happening. How could you let yourself become thin if thin people are jerks?
You must believe that you can be thin and a good person at the same time. Now I realize that I am not talking to everyone but if you have ever entertained a negative thought about the contestants of The Miss America Pageant or the Mr. Universe Competition then you need to rid your mind of those feelings and thoughts now if you ever want to achieve your weight loss goal. Yes, there are people who have attained an exceptional body but I assure you they didn’t accomplish this overnight. These people work hard to have what they have, they could just as easily sit on the couch all day and eat ice cream out of the cartoon, but they choose not to so they can enjoy the rewards of fitness.
If you want to be thin, then you must start blessing thin people. Instead of resenting thin or fit people, practice admiring them. Ask yourself questions about what they do to stay in such phenomenal shape, or better yet, ask them! You will find that many thin people would love to share their experiences and their journey.
In T. Harv Eker’s book The Secrets of the Millionaire Mind he talks about a philosophy he follows that comes from Huna wisdom, which is the original teachings of the Hawaiian elders. Simply stated it says, bless that which you want. If you want to be thin, then bless a thin person, if you want to be fit, bless a fit person.
I encourage you to give this a try and experience how freeing this simple experiment is, you might just find it brings you one step closer to permanent weight.
