No Collagen and Elastin Lotions For Brown Spots on Aging Skin
As we age, the skin droops and develops wrinkles, lines and furrows. Depending
on your skin type, you may find your skin to be pre-disposed to wrinkling. But thanks to diligent research and new advances, there are a number of solutions to combat facial lines.
As time goes on, we start to notice brown spots and freckles - “souvenirs of Florida” - on the backs of our hands and on other sun exposed areas like the upper chest and face. At first these brown spots are small and light colored, but eventually they become a cosmetic problem, an obvious sign of premature aging of the skin because of ultraviolet damage from sun exposure or from tanning beds.
After the realization that older age is creeping in, one becomes ready to pay good money for the potential benefits of expensively packaged treatments of collagen and elastin lotions, claiming to be the treatment of choice for retarding the process of aging. Here we find the danger of these skincare products not being as safe and effective as claimed. Without the clinical data to back up these claims, women should know that they are taking a chance by using them.
Ingredients like benzophenone and oxybenzone which are known to be carcinogenic; paraben preservatives, phthalates, BHT and others which are said not to be able to penetrate the skin, can and often do. These synthetics are used quite often with total disregard for safety and effectiveness while the cosmetic manufacturers heed no warning as to the dangers they represent. Quite often, the claim that ingredients are 100% natural is believed because it says so on the jar or tube. Further investigation can reveal that the jar or tube isn’t telling the whole truth.
The supposedly natural ingrediences have either been denatured or they are synthetic too and have come out of the lab rather than the ground So what is a woman to do? She could decide to save some money on cosmetics and grow old gracefully without help of skincare cosmetics, or she could look for a manufacturer who is prepared to say not only what the ingredients are or where they come from but how they are tested before being marketed.
There are still a few old-fashioned reputable companies of this kind, and they’re well worth seeking out and being supported. After all, a woman’s epidermis (skin) is her body’s biggest organ and is worth looking after. At least she should avoid collagen and elastin creams and ointments that contain sun block, fragrances or synthetic preservatives. That way she can at least start taking care of herself more effectively.
